Church Drawing Course - Wednesday 17th & Thursday 18th September 2025
Wednesday 17th & Thursday 18th September 2025
A two-day, non-residential course led by Matthew Rice. Focussing on drawing historic churches, a subject Matthew is well versed in and loves.
After a very successful and inspiring trip to Inglesham Church during our Architectural Drawing Course this summer, we decided it would be fun to devote a two day course just to churches. There are a lot of historic churches not far from Bampton that carry significant architectural or cultural importance. Matthew will start with the basics of measuring and drawing and applying colour using watercolours. He will show the group how to really look at what you are painting and how to accurately translate your subject onto paper. You will visit a number of local historic churches and draw from life whilst you're there.
Matthew is a very encouraging and patient teacher, making this course suitable for complete beginners.
